Sitting Still

I sat in that boat all day.
No wind.
Nothing.
Just hot air hanging.
The water so calm and so stagnant,
I didn’t dare drink.

I just sat there.
To move meant more heat.

When the wind came,
I’d grown so comfortable in the heat,
It chaffed and I chastised
Me.
