Not If But When

She said, it’s not if but when,
Because we will disappoint you.
She said it about her church,
But it resonated deep inside
As if a gong sounded, through crevices,
Lava, layers of protection
And so much more made sense,
The fear of a new church melted,
Of new people or friends,
Of new opportunities, jobs, schools,
It’s not if but when.

Will you stick around after
For God to show up in the most awesome ways?

Stay for the miracle. Stay for the grace.
