A psalm composed from Nehemiah 7 and Psalm 33
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
I celebrate with great joy because
I’ve heard His words and understood them.
You alone are the Lord.
You are always true to your word.
I was stubborn and proud,
But you are a God of forgiveness,
Gracious and merciful,
Slow to become angry,
Rich in unfailing love.
You did not abandon me,
Even when I worshiped idols.
You sent your Spirit to instruct me
And you never stopped providing for me.
You are my inheritance,
You made my heart,
You understand everything I do.
You watch over those who fear you,
Those who rely on your unfailing love.
You rescue me from death,
You keep me alive.
I put my hope in you.
My help and my shield.
My heart rejoices in you,
For I trust in your holy name.
Let your unfailing love surround us,
Our hope is in you alone.
